He presents to advisory groups, boards of directors, and executive staff of public sector agencies on evaluation findings and proposed strategic initiatives.
Michael excels translating complex analysis into actionable insights and clear tradeoffs for agencies, stakeholders, and the public. His clients have included state DOTs (Caltrans, Hawaii, Indiana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington), regional MPOs and councils of government (MTC, SACOG, SANDAG, SCAG, Gateway Cities, South Bay Cities), transit and rail agencies (LA Metro, BART, CCJPA, CHSRA, LOSSAN, SFMTA), and cities (Los Angeles DOT, City of San Diego). Career highlights include leading the prioritization of major projects underlying the successful 2016 Measure M ballot measure for LA Metro, directing the groundbreaking regional Mobility Zones neighborhood mobility program for the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, and helping the State of California assess and prioritize active transportation and transit assets on the state transportation network.
