Maria Alejandra is a transport specialist at Steer, focusing on sustainable mobility, electric vehicle (EV) strategy, and transport innovation. She provides technical and strategic advice to clients on the transition to zero-emission transport solutions, supporting public and private sector stakeholders in delivering cleaner, more efficient mobility systems.

Her expertise spans electric mobility, transport planning and policy, infrastructure and technology deployment for e-buses, risk assessment and technical due diligence, and sustainable mobility solutions. With a background in civil engineering and a Master's in Urban Planning and Policy Design, she has worked across Latin America, delivering innovative transport solutions that align with sustainability and climate goals. Her work is centred on assessing technical, operational, and financial risks associated with electric mobility projects, supporting clients in decision-making for large-scale fleet transitions.

Maria Alejandra has played a key role in supporting major electric bus deployments in Latin America. She led technical due diligence for the acquisition of over 1,200 electric buses in Bogotá and nearly 1,000 electric buses in Santiago, ensuring the successful procurement, manufacture, and operation of these fleets. Additionally, she has advised lenders on the risks associated with EV charging infrastructure, helping secure sustainable transport investments for cities transitioning to low-emission mobility.
