With a focus on supporting clients in infrastructure transactions, Jon has advised on a wide range of assets, including roads, rail, trams, ferries, buses, airports, vehicle fleets, EV/alternative fuels, and parking. Since 2013, he has provided advisory support to Transurban and its partners, playing a key role in several successful transactions, including the acquisition of Queensland Motorways and the Brisbane Airport Link in 2014 and 2015, the two tranches of WestConnex in Sydney in 2018 and 2021, and the sale of 50% of Transurban’s US business to CPPIB and AusSuper in 2021.
Recently, Jon has advised CPPIB on multiple successful acquisitions in Indonesia, CDPQ on their purchase of 50% of the A25 in Montreal, AEDL on the sale of its motorway portfolio in Portugal, EGIS on the sale of the A63 in France, and CCL on the ongoing sale of the Globalvia portfolio, which includes 14 roads and 6 rail/tramways.
In addition to transaction advisory, Jon provides guidance to lenders on infrastructure refinancings, advises governments and multilateral development banks on infrastructure project structuring and financing, and supports investment committees in assessing the value and risk profile of potential investments. His experience, expertise, and industry knowledge enable him to effectively engage with all stakeholders and decision-makers in the infrastructure sector, ensuring the best outcomes for his clients.
