Hannah Thomas

Associate Director & Head of Movement, Places and Projects
Profile

Hannah is a chartered Transport Planner (CMIHT/TPP) with a passion for making transport accessible and improving the urban environment. Hannah works hard to understand client priorities and strategic goals which, coupled with her expertise and practical mindset, enables her to provide deliverable solutions for all stages of projects from policy development through to implementation and evaluation, which at their heart deliver an improved outcome for everyone.

Hannah has a unique blend of experience across private and public (local and regional) sectors, along with large scale international events. Her work focuses on creating inclusive urban environments that cater to diverse populations, ensuring that everyone has access to essential services and opportunities. This includes advising on urban logistics, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, stakeholder engagement and inclusive design.

Key achievements include leading the Accessible Transport provision for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, which was heralded as setting the standard for accessible events and led to a similar role for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. She was also instrumental in developing a Concept of Operations for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, setting out recommended standards and advice for each part of the customer journey. These roles, along with her voluntary work supporting a swimming charity for disabled people, have given her a deep appreciation of the wide variety of needs people may have and the ability to develop solutions that positively transform their experience.
