Alex has over 20 years’ experience working in both the public and private sector. His specialisms lie in the use of data and detailed modelling to guide development of roadspace reallocation measures that enhance active travel and public transport journeys.
At Steer, Alex leads our feasibility design and case making practice in the UK and supports our international offices in delivering best practice modelling for our clients. His understanding of modelling and real-world data enables him to develop best practice methodologies that provide insight on complex transport schemes.
Internationally Alex has lead workstreams on projects as broad as multi-billion-dollar motorway and light rail projects in Sydney to transport planning for major developments in India and Moscow. Alex also worked at Transport for London where he developed in-depth knowledge of traffic modelling requirements supported by an enhanced understanding of complex road network operations, including the implementation of congestion charging schemes. Most recently Alex has helped established Steer as a leading provider of Streets-for-All design across Greater Manchester having delivered feasibility designs for multiple bus and cycle corridors.
